Hello, my name is Turk!

Hello,

I'm Turk and I've just joined the ranks of Skoda owners with an 02 Fabia Elegance Estate 1.4 100hp in dark blue. Not a bad little motor by all accounts; it has been well looked after and has only done 25k. My only gripe is that some pillock has tried to polish it with a motorised buffer and has managed to burn trails into the top coat. Its not noticeable on an overcast day but in the right light it looks pretty bad, so I may well be looking for some advice about how best to sort it out.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to being a Briskoda member!

Hello and welcome.

 hi

Hiya.

You say the car's dark blue, but is it straight or metallic paint? If it's straight paint, it might be worth trying a gentle T-cut, followed by only ever using "colour magic" type polishes on it.

If it's metallic that's awkward. Either the clown has burnt the lacquer coat, then it might T-cut and re-spray with an aerosol (warm still day), or they've burnt right through to the colour coat, in which case it's panel(s) respray time, cos there's no way to cut metallic base. :(

welcome to briskoda.
