Pimp my Ride!!!

Featured Replies

Hey Folks!

Recently purchased an 01 Octavis VRS. 65,000 on the clock and it's going great. The fella who had it before me got it re-mapped by Revo Technik to 212bhp so it's pretty nippy to say the least. But, I'm getting greedy and I wouldn't mind pushing some more bhp outa that engine. I've never actually done anything to a car in my life as I've driven mostly company cars for the last few years so I am totally clueless on what to do or where to do it. Seemenly 212bhp is considered the safest amount without any mods (exhaust, clutch ect.) to the car. Can anyone shed any light on that? If I want to bring it up to the 250bhp range will I need a new exhaust ect. and will this be bad for the car??

As i say.... CLUELESS  on this but any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks people!

Conor. :D

Well mate, to get 250 bhp you will need to spend a mint...why not just go for a full cat back exhaust ie blueflame, bigger turbo intake pipe, and some mods to your air system ie panel filter or induction,al these will give you more turbo spool up time and the car will feel much better,250bhp bigger turbo ,new intercooler lots of money i reckon.

250 is attainable easily (since there were 225 spec 20vT's)

Your car should have been ~180 to start with, so to get to 250, you can get hold of a K04 turbo from a SEAT Leon Cupra R, or an Audi TT, but if you're gonna do that, you might as well get a decent hybrid turbo instead.

As has been said, a bigger intake, front-mount intercooler, turbo-back exhaust (not some "custom" pile of crap, get a tested one from a reputable company) and a custom remap should see well over 250bhp :)

If your going to go down a route. Changing to a K04, is a complete waste of money, and so is a hybrid.

If your spending that sort of money, your better suited with an IHI conversion, or a bigger Garrett.

For now, an Exhaust is a nice upgrade, as you can gain a little bit of noise, with a little bit of grunt. All depends on how far you want to go, and how much money you have to spend.

250hp vs 180hp ..... on the road, there is little difference ... :)
