Xenons Lights Skoda Octiva VRS

Featured Replies

Hi..

I have just had a xenon light replaced under warranty as it was flickering and going out randomly.. They replaced the whole cluster and when that did not work they then changed the bulb. They have replaced it, and the flickering has stoped, but it seems yellow and not crystal white like the other!!!

Do the bulbs that skoda use have a Different Kelvin temperature for different models or have i just got a duff one? Does anyone know what the Kelvin temp should be for the VRS one as I'm not impressed with the yellow tinge of this one and would like to know before asking what it is they have changed it to.?

I understand that these blubs do have a different Kelvin temp and the higher the number the whiter they are.. EG

Typical color range is between 3000K(Yellow) - 4300K(white) - 6000K(white/slight blue tint) - 8000K(white/blue tint) - 10000K(white/purple tint) -14000K(Super Blue).

Any ideas.

Rob..

Not impressed happy with the VRS at the mo.. 1 Year old car.

I think the Octavia is around 4000k as standard, possibly the 4300k you mention. I also know that the colour gets more blue as they get older though so I wonder if that's the problem? I suppose it depends how different they are?

Sorry I just noticed you say your car is only a year old. I can't imagine that the 'old' bulb would have changed THAT much in a year.

Thanks Phil

Im sure when i got the car though they were very white.. Yes the car is just over a year so like you cant think they would change that much.. But this one is yellow and looks weird.. The Wife noticed on they back from the dealer and i had noticed on the back of her car when in traffic.

Ok will ask tomorrow about it.. If anyone knows the correct kelvin number please let me know.. the invoice says nothing not even a part no..!!

Rob.

Mine seem to project many different colours, and more noticable in fog. To be honest the fog lights seem distictively yellow and have poor projection.
