After having my remote fob nicked, I decided to save a few bob buying a new uncut fob from ebay.

Got the blade cut and programmed the remote as per the instructions in the handbook - all was looking good.

Now all I need is to program the transponder with VAG COM.

Followed instructions found on this site, logged into intrument module, entered 0 as new value in channel 21 - test ok - save ok.

Now when I enter new value as 2 (new key and old key) it tests ok and says "New Key" in the feild at the top left but when saving it reverts back to 1 as the saved value and says "Old Key".

Anyone any ideas??

Have you put the second key well away from the steering column when programming? Is the new key the same frequency? Are you sure you have the SKC entered correctly?

Rich ... Just wondered if you find a solution to your replacement key problem , would you post a step by step guide to how you sorted it. Maybe with where you got your blank key from etc .... you could miss out any swearing that was part of the solution. Only joking ... but it does seem like a pig of a job ! Dave
