Fuel Guage or Computer?

Featured Replies

Hi All

My Fabia vRS fuel guage is it reliable or do I stick to what the computer tells me.

I put a fivers worth of diesel in it Wednesday. The computer tells me that there is enough in the tank to do 185 miles (On top of what was previously in the tank)

So far since Wed. I have done just over 70 miles and the fuel guage tells me i am one third full. But the computer tells me I have 115 miles left.

Do I use the computers estimate as the 'rule of thumb' or go by the guage.

Thanks for all your help

Dont rely on the computer read outs ........ they arent very accurate :thumbdwn:

the fuel gauge usully drops pretty quick once you get below halfway ..........

I always fill up when gong goes and the refill symbol comes up

I second that. My computer says I'm getting 51 MPG and when I work it out myself I'm actually getting 45 MPG. That is with rather brisk driving so I suppose its not too bad.

i never trust the computer not very accurate
