Featured Replies

30 degrees, with a non-bio detergent.

And don't use conditioner. Add a cupful of white vinegar.

what does the vinegar do?

It removes all traces of soap and leaves them very soft.

Thank you will have to try it.

I put my lambs wool Meg's one in at 40, again, without any conditioner. Hadn't heard about the vinegar trick.

On the Meg's seminar last year, they were saying they boil wash all their stuff...

Got one too and was wondering about this :) Halfrauds had a 3 for 2 so grabbed this and some clay and Gold wash etc :)

The itt is superb too, alot easier than a sponge :)

I got a fibre one from Tesco not sure if I prefer the sponge tho as the microfibre oe leaves more tiny marks.

What do you mean exactly by "tiny marks" ?

40 Degree wash.. :)

Use liquid washing detergent/softener too. Powder doesn't always fully disolve and can reek havok on a shiny surface.

Don't use softener - it clogs the microfibre up.

This all going too far. Just bung it in the washer.

I use a Tesco Wash mitt and its fine and there are no swirls.

At the end of the day its youre choice but IMO its not going to make any difference

Sorry, I meant water softener (Calgon type stuff), not fabric softener.

I have a cotton mitt and a lamby mitt. The difference is where the crap goes. The wool mitt seems to pull grime into the fibres, away from the paint, whereas the cotton mitt holds it on the outside, against the bodywork. Considering the price of a wool mitt, its only a few quid more than the cotton, which also snaggs less on trim parts (so will last longer), is it really worth risking?
