tuning question

Featured Replies

Which would be more cost effective / possible, a seat 160 turbo and intercooler conversion or going the custom route ? Space seems to be the main problem under the furby vrs bonnet and does anyone know what other differences or costs would be involved? I would be doing the fitting myself and wondered if anyone had done this conversion befor and had any advice.

Any help would be greatly recieved.:thumbup:

I dunno about the seat 160 turbo and intercooler.

Forge do a fmic specifically for the vrs.

try looking at the partners on this site, alot of them do uprated fmic

Lots of turbo upgrades aswell.

searching in the fabia section will find loads of threads related to turbos and other engine mods

If you do a search you'll find a lot of info on Briskoda.

A FMIC is a must, even with the OEM turbo (IIRC it generates more heat remapped than a bigger one running less hard).

Proper remap and that'll keep you happy for a bit.

Then get a hybrid fitted from Turbodynamics or Allards plus another remap. The question of fitting a PD160 turbo has been raised and IIRC doesnt provide a big enough upgrade...

Beyond that, you're getting into things like uprated injectors, propane, NOS and the like.

And you will want to squeak in uprated brakes somewhere along the line....and uprated clutch as well when you put in a bigger turbo....

It's called the slippery slope and seems to be derv-coated!
