Looking to buy Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi All

I currently have a Passat 130PD, having narrowly missed getting a Superb [and now wish I had, but that's another story!].

I'm looking to buy an Octavia shortly for my partner.

I have heard about issues regarding ECU's for 110TDi engines, but will post this in a more appropriate thread.

Cheers for now,

Guy

welcome to briskoda

hi. and welcome to brisky. why not just buy her a 130 bhp octy? :D scared it's better than ur passat?

Hello and welcome.

I think the ECU should be pretty reliable, it's probably the same as the 130 but with different software. Bosch EDC 15 I think.

Welcome :wavey:

You are talking about the old Mk1 Octy TDi - Is that what youre thinking of ? .

These engines had already been run in the VW's before going into the Octy, so you should be ok , specially if you are looking at a late Mk1.

Thanks all for the advice and a friendly welcome!

We're looking at 2001 ish TDi's, an Elegance if possible; we've seen a couple with resonable miles for around 4k which our maximum budget...

Hopefully we'll have one on the drive soon!

Cheers

Guy
