I saw my first one on the M1 yesterday, same colour as the one above.

I liked the look of it in the metal.

Not seen one on the road yet, but there again I haven't seen a Roomster on the road either!

Hmm, perhaps more accurate:

Yep, striking resemblance to the Swift!

Rather have the Swift IMHO

I agree, the Swift is the better looker.

apart from teh paint colour and the black a pillars they look completely different!!

when is/was the new fabia out?

The new Fabia has similar proportions and details to the Swift, but in all honestly they DO look different.

bengie - It's out on the 17th May :) I can't wait to test drive it. I love the VW 1.2 12v engine! :D

Swift looks more similar top a new focus/fiesta than the fabia IMHO

I saw a garage forecourt full of them in southern germany a few weeks ago, and I thought it looked OK from the outside. Obviously trying to get the wrap around windscreen effect of the roomster. The only inside shots I have seen though, were in Autocar and I think it is too stock VW - too dull grey and plastic. Skoda should do something better.

I hope the superb 2 is better on the inside when it comes out as I want to buy one eventually

Having seen it in what car initially I thought the front stuck out a bit, the skoda website does the car more justice, cannot wait till it comes out, going go for a wee look before I splash the cash on it.

Do agree it looks a bit like a roomster and the swift through.

all 1.2 engines in VW group vehicles (Polo, Fabia, Ibiza, Fox) are engineered and made by Škoda...

Some people think that the new fabia design is a mere copy of the Suzuki Swift, but id like to inform people that the new fabia was designed in 2002, it was not released or put into production because the current fabia which it is replacing ws performing better than expected.

The new fabia will have a large arrayof engines including a 1.4 TDI, but the 1.4 A/t will not be offered in this model instead the 1.6 A/t will be offered

the interior of the new fabia will have the roomster dash.

Dont be afraid to ask your dealers cos that's where im getting my info.

a young salesman in a south dublin dealer was able to tell me that
