Meguires Scratch X

Featured Replies

Noticed a few swirls recently, so attacked the car with Scratch X today. Fantastic stuff. No electric buffer, just a polishing mitt and finished off with Swissol Onyx Wax. Fantastic results. The paintwork was so clean it squeeked!! Can recommend this product for easy results without a lot of effort.

Im thinking of investing in some of this stuff - my car had light swirling when I go it.

I've built up a good few coats of Megs NXT Tech Wax paste to see me over the winter - but will I need to claybar the car first before using the Scratch X?

And if so any recommendations for clay bar and lubricant - I've never done it before.

Sonus Green Clay and Megs Last Touch quick detail diluted with water 50:50 is what I'd recommend!

I didnt use a clay bar. It removed all the old wax anyway

:o Think i'll have to buy glasses... Swear I didnt see any though.

Scratch X is great stuff.

I used it on my sisters 306 Pug a while ago along with a few other Megs products as the car was scratched and pink....giving me this result.

However, the car is now pink dented and looks nothing like the above!

There's more than one Halfords ;)

A silly question, but years ago when I was out washing my car, a neighbour had one with a metallic finish (not shiny) and said it wouldn't make much difference if he cleaned it or not - and hadn't for some time. Do you reckon it's cyclical an that we'll all be happy with dull-finish cars soon?

Hopeful of Tonbridge Wells

I might give that a go this coming weekend...... I've just started to notice the starts of the dreaded swirl marks so might try and catch 'em early on.

Would the tube appear to give a few applications???

Cheers

Does it now drive around newport with a baked bean can exhaust :P

There are some seriously dodgy motors driving around, which always amuses me when the lasses dad reacts to them in the furball VRS. Plenty pull up along side on the entrance to "the motorway" and he just waits for them to start trying to hammer it in the 1.0L car with 1 tonne of body kit on it then boots it in third

Plenty left. Rub in well and buff up immediately (it goes squeeky) or its a bugger to get off. Good luck.
