Mongrelling in progress

Featured Replies

Mega mongrelling in progress this morning (Jason here :D)

So far a great big hole has been drilled in the top of my dash for the umpteen wires which need threading through and into the engine bay. The triple dashpod assembly is close to being secured - being mounted to the dash itself above the centre air vents. Each pod is on a flexible mounting plate, so I can "twizzle" them to point straight at me. Have moved the boost gauge from out the air vent (finally ;)) and alongside it now is the EGT gauge, with the oil/water temp gauge to it's right.

Just not sure how to attack the oil pressure. I might look into a digital gauge for that as well. :)

Job for this afternoon? Fabricate a removeable steel plate to sit over the area my old battery was. Mount LPG regulators securely to that, and adapt the fuel pipes/boost pipe to suit. Might even mount the NOS injector on it, but the NOS itself will not be going in until next week I reckon.

The passenger seat is in a right state at the moment - bits of wiring, bits of foam from drilling through the dashboard - Time for a hoovering  :D:rofl:

I love a bit of mongrelling - gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside.

Pictures?

Watching an old episode of TG last night with the Wizards on, they stated NOS capable of adding up to 500 bhp:eek:, so come on Jason what level are you aiming at :D

I now have EGT, oil and water temp readouts! (Jason again....)

Done some cunning work - tapping a thread into the sump next to the sump plug, and adapting a bit of the coolant pipework to use a bit of ally pipe, which was also threaded. :) 1/8" sensor taps screwed into each thread, and voila, I have temps. :D

Did notice an unfortunate leak on the turbo though - just a small one from an oil feed pipe, but it will need some modifying. :)

On a side note - I took a peek at the turbo itself! It's FOOKIN HUGE!
