I was thinking of buying the new Fabia (2) 1.2 HTP next year beacause I am 31 yrs old and I have never had a sports car/hot hatch and I need your advice. I don't really do alot of miles and most of my journeys are short distances, will these short journeys damage the VRS engines. Is the 1.9 TDI a powerful car or even a 1.4 TDI. I have about

The new Fabia HTP has an extra 6BHP and doesn't weigh anymore so it's a little bit quicker but you should go for a test drive when they're available. I don't suppose you'll like the 1.4 TDI much and this engine is a lot more expensive than the HTP and hardly chepaer than the 1.9.

What about the 1.6 petrol?

Hi, Simple go and test drive a few. I was 95% sure I was going to get an Audi A2 but only because I had the chance I test drove the VRS and the rest is history along with the A2....... I also understand about the mileage concern, I deffo need a diesel....:)

I have a budget of 9 grand so I won't have enough for the new 1.6. The VRS looks very tempting, are the service costs high?.

If you use the dealers yes. Independent garage no.

Why not come along on the next Yorkshire meet. I'll give you a spin in mine, failing that. I live in Bingley

If you want a new Fab then the chepest diesel is the 70BHP 1.4TDI in "1" spec but even that is more expensive that the level 2 1.2HTP.

Should be able to pick up a pretty decent Fabia VRS for about
