Brake upgrades for the Felicia Fun

Featured Replies

Hi

I have recently bought a Skoda Felicia Fun, i had a Rover 416 before, and it was a much more sportier car, it had vented discs in the front and regular discs in the rear.

But is it possible to mod the Felicia to have the same?

Can i take the brake system from lets say a Vw Polo 6N2/6NZ(It has 4*100 like the Skoda), and it have ventet discs in the front, and regular discs in the rear.

And what about lovering the Felicia Fun, does it share the same suspension as the regular Felicia/Felicia Combi?

Does anyone know the part number for the plastic inner wheel arches(Front and rear for the Felicia Fun)?

Best Regards

Morten

Ps, i am from Denmark, so my english is not so good.

I have seen that, but its cheaper to get some original discs drilled and grooved, i think.

When a car has ABS it dont matter if the disc is drilled and grooved, until the discs and pads glaze.

I regular race in my car, so thats why i want to have vented discs at the front.

The tricky bit about changing the Felicia front discs is the hubs are threaded to take the carrier bolts and not the carrier as per other VW brakes. The carrier bolts are also very small to there isnt much scope for re drilling and rethreading.

As mentioned elsewhere on this site the Felicia Fun suspension is the same at the front but the rear is unique to the pick up and not interchangeable.

also a further note on the above comments by ross, the caliper offset is much wider on the felicia too, plus the spacing of the mounting bolts is wider on the 6n/6n2 polo/mk2 golf/etc...

some time in the near future i'm going to be doing a brake conversion thing on a felica using 4 piston calipers..... so watch this space!!

Ive seen a 312mm conversion done using some custom made adapters.

And yes I did point out to him that he had fitted the o/s caliper to the n/s

that's pretty cool! i bet that took some work!!

i've been putting a little thought into this, i was considering using corrado g60 280mm discs, but now i'm more inclined to go for the smaller 256mm polo/lupo discs because i should be able to fit this inside a 14" wheel

I had a set of 280mm Corrado discs and calipers to fit on the front of my Fun but due to the assache I didnt bother.

Turned out alright though as they now adorn the front of my Polo.

excellent... it's a dead easy swap on a polo/lupo for those.. you can even keep the original calipers, all you need is the carriers from the g60/ibiza cupra:)

Yup indeed. It just so happens that the calipers were actually off an Ibiza Cupra (same as the Corrado) and were a natty shade of red so I swapped them over.
