thanks for the helps guys:thumbup:

my octy must be cleverer than me as now its on auto it does a much better job of keeping me cool than i could!

Climate and sunroof both standard on the Elegance! Why?

Think of it like a roof window - it lets the sunshine in! When it's a little overcast it brightens up the cabin quite a bit. Have to pull the cover back closed when it's dark though :(

Anyway, sometimes you want to turn the A/C off, wind the windows down, crank open the sunroof and hoof it. Keeps you less insulated from the world, seeing the clouds roll by above, hearing the pizzzzzzzzzzz-chooo of the turbo. Lovely.

The sunroof blind is only ever closed when I'm on a street-lit road in the dark! Doesn't stop me feeling that it's pointless to have a sunroof that doesn't extract that well on a car with climate.

I agree with the window roof comment. Although the AC renders the sunroof defunct, it does give a good view of Buzzards and Red Kites as I drive under them (should probably be watching the road :o )

The sunroof is particularly useful left on tilt or partially open on hot days when the car is parked. Nothing worse than getting into a stifling hot car. Would never choose a sunroof over an a/c but would like to have both.

How cool is cool? Does anyone know the minimum air temperature from the dash vents achievable on max cool. I can get down to about 2.5c with recirc on (drawing cool from foot wells air back into system) but my climatronic seems to stuggle on warmer days.

No, beyond that the vents output air that's too cold for my comfort if directed at me for any length of time (no evidence of system ever being serviced; normally left on full auto).
