Anti scum device AKA Anti Jacking device

Featured Replies

One of the fabia VRS's we took for a test drive had this feature enabled. It's where the door lock themselves once the car passes 5mph and don't reopen until you pull the door handle.

Does anyone know how you turn this on and off? On our old clio you held the lock doors button for 5 secs until it beeped.

Thanks in advance........

Ask your dealer nicely , or turn up at a Briskoda meet and look for someone with a laptop and a cable and buy them a beer.

You might actually want to keep this feature, as it saved me from having to take a trip to one of our Majesty's hotels because I might have 'laid hands' on some little Chav in Coventry, who was lucky enough NOT to have opened my rear door while I waited at the lights (I thought a rock had been kicked against the car, got out and a Security guard told me about the black-clad-mountain-bike-riding-scarf-face-covered chav). I'm not bitter, honest

I'm 6'9", 21.5 stones, and I REALLLLLLYYYY think he was lucky he didn't hang around, don't you.....

Sorry sixman9, it is currently turned off at the moment and I want it to be turned ON as my other half drives through some reasonably unpleasent areas too and from work.

Sounds like you were lucky/unlucky! The chance to take out some frustration on a Chav would almost be worth a short break holiday.....

Can this feature be activated on my Superb does anyone know?

yep

OOOOERrrrrrrrr, now let me see.....

I can do it on VAGCOM although I'll need to find the dongle.

Try your dealer, Went to visit mine yesterday ( Sherlodge in Gillingham ) to get some oil for my Fabia VRS, whilst there i enquired about the Anti Scum jacking, and the Beep on locking and unlocking doors, and they said"No problem, we can do that for ya".

So as the car is booked in on Tuesday for a very minor fault with the interior trim (Electric window switch cover), i have asked if they can do the other 2 things for me......

I will let you know how it turns out....

Sixman, Not that i condone violence in any way, But what a shame you didnt get to hammer the scumbag into Mush!!!! I agree it would be worth a stay at Her majesty`s pleasure.....Assuming you get caught. He had a lucky escape i think.

My old Megane came with this activated as standard, but must say I prefer the 'first click unlocks the driver's door only' system that the Fabia comes with, as I don't always drive through areas where I'd want the doors locked, and I'm not convinced of the safety of being locked inside the car if I had an accident on the motorway for example...

At the end of the day, the button on the armrest does fine for me when I do drive into dodgier areas.

AFAIK, the boot locks when you drive off, and stays locked as long as the engine is on. Either that or SWMBO just can't get it open sometimes!!!

In the event of an accident the doors will unlock. They also unlock if the key is removed from the ignition. They can also be unlocked by pulling the door handle. :D

That's fine if you're conscious after the crash - I'm more worried about being unconscious and the emergency services having to cut me out of the car when it wasn't necessary... :(

But then again, I'm not planning on crashing anytime soon, so perhaps it's a bit of a daft thing to be worried about! :o

... or by pressing the button on the armrest :)

Anyone in Surrey/Hampshire/Sussex got VAG Com and like beer? I fancy this done on my car and my local dealers aren't helpful enough to do it for me for free :-/

I need to activate unlock on key removal- any VAGCOM people in Leicester like beer?

I've had this feature on every car I've owned.....

....I get in and lock the doors immediately :)

Any reason for not using the central locking system button(s) on the driver's door to achieve the same as above?

Thanks to a certain ScoobyChris, we could be in business

If you find someone sooner, don't worry, I won't hold it against you (though Be There Presently may take longer to turn up in a few months time  )

But the doors unlock themselves in a collision, so the emergency services would be able to get to you anyway, whether you're conscious or not

Anyway, I have both one-door unlock and anti-hijack enabled and find them very useful  Hopefully the OP and a VAG-COM person can be united shortly ;)
