Featured Replies

I wouldn't have thought so......... And as you still changed the original spec / operation of the vehicle it could well still invalidate the warranty!!! I've got a Seat cupra intake and strurbrace but if they directly caused a prob on the car i would expect Skoda would dispute any warranty claim..... And they are VAG parts with VAG part numbers.

Cheers

Dave.

Good point!

I guess if you are looking to 'improve' the car, I'd go down the aftermarket route with parts that are designed specifically for the Furby. Saying that, the Ibiza strut brace, intake and 312mm brakes to me are a brainer as existing VAG parts.....just buy them!! :D

I've got many non standard parts and I just had my 2nd year service - the only thing on the report was that I had and I quote "the wrong wheels for car"!!!

It is entirely up to you what you do with your car but for not too much £ (or Euro), you can really improve the car. I said I would keep mine standard but look where I am now!!!!

the bloke who deals with their warranty issues said as long as they were vag parts it would all be tickety boo!!.....how much could lowering springs damage the car anyway?.....had them on my old octy RS and the garage were more than happy with them!!....the service guys said they loved driving my car as it handled so much better!!.......have just been up on the twistys and oh lordy something needs to be done!!

k:)

The guy is talking crap, if the parts arent type approved for the car then they wont be covered.

Stuff the warranty, Ive lowered mine big wheels and i get the leaking doors etc still fixed under warrenty, I shall Admint if a wheel bearing goes ill expect ill have to pay as ive got the bigger wheels.

But if you A/C breaks you should still get it fixed etc.

But Jabba ARB put a VAG part no on it.

SEAT ibiza upper strut brace thats A VAG part i believe.

Eibach Pro dampers and springs lowers 25mm.

The Eibach Front lower ARB is the same Thickness as standard i believe, so dont bother doing that but there is a mod called the UDDER mod. (thats ment to be worth doing dont know much about it, a search would soon bring something up)

My cars lowered and ARBs and handles like a dream. Although u do lose some comfort. If you wanted to keep the comfort id lower useing springs and keep the standard dampers, although this will wear the standard dampers quicker to my limited knowledge.

think thats just what i will do:).......new springs and ARB here we come!!:).....another question though....does anybody know if the seat can go any lower?.....even at its lowest setting it feels that im sat really high up!!

You'll defo lose warranty but out of interest do the Ibiza Cupra TDi springs & dampers bolt straight on?
