Warranty question

Featured Replies

I bought my 2004 octy vrs about 4 weeks ago from my local skoda garage.

As the car was registered in June 2004 there should still be a few months warranty on it. My 1st question is as the car is second hand, will i still be covered under the original warranty?

and 2nd, there is a metalic squeaking noise coming from the front end, am right in saying its the a.r.b bush (checked the rad mounts, car only done 19,000 miles)??

Car booked into dealers in the morning.

Any advice??

Regards

Jon

If bought from a dealer it should have a comprehensive 12 month dealer warranty that covers as much as the original expiring Skoda one.

Actually thats not true, but in the OP's case he's fine as its still under the manufacturer's warrenty

They can sell you any warrenty they like, doesn't even have to be a Skoda one.

Yeah got told it had a 12 month warranty but thought it might be a limited one. Thanks for the quick reply.

Quick update anyway:

Played with the rad mounts an hour ago and no noise, just gone for a quick spin and played with the rad mounts again and there it was. The annoying squeak. Hopefully get it done tomorrow.

Do you think they would have rad mounts in stock in the dealers? (any skoda workers???) or is it a diagnose and bring it back in a week job??

Our recently purchased Octavia has a comprehensive warranty, I've just read the paperwork, so ner ner ne ner ner..

I bought mine 2nd hand and all warranty work was carried out up to 3 years.

How do i tell what type of 12 month warranty i have?

Some of these warranties or insurances will not pay for time spent on diagnosis, pay labour at a set hourly rate (where the difference will be will be chargeable to the customer) and may have a limit on the number and value of the claims
