any one know how to fit a anp cable to a mk1 octy vrs tried to find a way through the bulkhead but i just cant find a grommet or hole at all plz plz help i need my subs thanks guys:confused:

People will shoot me for this, but I was in the same position as you, still never found a grommet, so I made my own hole. Took off the glove box and pulled back the top of the carpet. Checked the proposed position in the car and in the bay, and drilled a hole, fed the cable through, and sealed the hole. Works fine for me.

This has been posted before. If you do a search, you should be able to find.

I've done this before using the guides posted here and with the help of a few people answering my specific questions. It's not quite as easy as some of the posts suggest, and I lost quite a bit of skin off my forearms. I'm hoping to document my whole install at some point in the future, but in the mean time...

Anyway, first remove the glove box by releasing the splinned screws ad unclipping the light. Pull down the foam sound proofing stuff behind the big plastic fan/aircon box thingy.

Next, into the engine bay. Behind the battery is a curved plasic channel which heads towards the bulkhead. Remove this and the battery cover. Remove the rubber trim from the plastic weather trim above the bulkhead (the bit the windscreen wipers go into). Pull this upwards releasing the clips all along, and prise upwards. Wedge up as high as you feel comfortable with using wooden blocks or similar.

You should now be able to see a grommit at the back of the channel, on the bulkhead. Get a wire coathanger, making sure the end isn't too sharp, and poke it through the grommit, aiming downwards. Tie some cord on to the end of the coat hanger, and pull through from the inside. The coat hanger should have appeared quite high up behind the air con fan thiggy, and can be pulled through.

Feed the power cable from the direction of the battery up through the curved channel, and then attatch the cord to some power cable with lots of electrical tape, and pull through. I would reccommend 4awg cable, as it fits ok, and should allow a couple of amps to be installed without overloading, and obviously you don't want to do this more than once. Not sure if 0awg cable would fit, but you could try.

Don't forget to put a fuse in the engine bay as close to the battery as possible. To connect to the battery, I had a friend machine a slot into a heavy duty terminal lug so I could slot in onto the terminal securing bolt and tighten down.

Once in the passanger companrment it's a fairly simple job of unscrewing/pulling off the plastic trim and routing the cable - don't forget to make sure it is protected anywhere it goes over sharp edges - there's one as you go towards the boot where I used some off-cuts of leather to stop the metal cutting into the cable.

Hope that helps - let me know if you need any more info. Rooster.
