What price to Sell VRS Petrol

Featured Replies

Hi, I am having difficulty working out what price I should be selling my Octavia VRS II (Petrol) for. I am considering going back to a Fabia VRS, Special Edition.

I bought the car pre-registered from my local dealer with about 20 miles on the clock when I part exchanged my original Fabia VRS. It has now covered 7,300 miles. It has 18

I was recently offered £12000 for my June 06, 20k miles red vRS (Mark 2) with no options.

The dealer said he would try to retail it at £15K:eek: ...I paid under £16k for it!(someone would have to be a muppet to pay £15k for it) I decided not to trade in(don't ask..work reasons). I was considering putting it on autotrader for £13k for a private sale.

I know the age/spec is different to yours, but it may help you get a feel for where the value is.

Dan

It has now covered 7,300 miles. It has 18’’Zenith Alloys, Cool Box, dual Zone climate control, and will be having a fresh set of tyres fitted tomorrow (Falken 452).

Thanks for any pointers!

A new set of tyres at 7300 Miles.. So one careful owner then..........:D

Tracking reasons; front worn inside edge. Rears worn on outer edges. Been to dealer today to have alignment checked, and advised that all is fine however i am very sceptical at the moment, due to the amout of threads realting to tyre wear on the forum.

I have been getting up to 20k out on previous cars no problems.

So in answer not driven hard!

My best advice would be to search Auto Trader and price your car close to what other similar ones are selling for. Harsh as it may seem I don't think you'll get anywhere near the 16k mark

Had a look last night,Thanks.

Around the 14 to 14.5k mark seems to be the going rate for a private sale.

God knows how dealers think they will sell them for top end of 16k, based on the private sale figures in autotrader. The difference is usually 1 to 1.5k less for a private sale, from teh price that dealers ask for .

You could always join Freedom here and advertsie it. £12 per year and I'm sure there are some interested parties around here.
