Hi all. Great site you've got here.

I'm hoping to be a bona-fide, paid up member of the community in the next few weeks. I ordered a vRS Ltd Ed on Sunday from claybanks in Manchester.

Only problem is I have to wait till 11th May till I'm certain.

Briefly, I took delivery of a new Civic Type R on 19th March. On 13th April 4 masked blokes decided that they should have it. Basically, they smashed into my house and demanded the keys (full story here if you're interested: Civic Type R Owners :: Log in You'll have to register to read it).

The Insurance company say if it's not recovered in 28 days they will replace it with a new one. The only problem is that there is now about a 2 month waiting list for one, and also the wife is saying she doesn't want it back anyway, she's scared of the same thing happening again.

So now I just have to wait and see what happens. Hpoefully the insurance people will be sympathetic to my request for a cash settlement, given the wife's fears and the unavailability of a new Civic.

I've been reading up on the Fabia vRS and have to say that nearly all that I've read has been positive. I'm quietly hoping myself that it doesn't get recovered. It would be nice to actually get a few miles to the gallon for a change! (The Civic only averages low 20's, the Focus ST before that was slightly worse and the MG ZT 260 before that, well, I was lucky to get double figures!)

I've already spoken to Celtic Tuning about a Remap. Quoted

I was never given the option of cash instead of a new car in the first year, Even if there is a few months to wait for a new one the insurance might just give you a hire car until they can source one, but worth a try I suppose.

Do a search for Celtic tuning, They have been mentioned a few times.

sorry to hear your problems... but it should be quite less likely with a Skoda on your driveway,(although don't ask Mr. Grumpy, as his was taken in a similar way, but with less voilence...) and save the money you'd have spent on fuel, and go on holiday ;)

Given your circumstances, I would play merry hell with your insurance company until they back down and allow you a fair cash/alternative settlement. I'm guessing you're in Manchester, lovely place  .

Hope you get it resolved and end up with your furb

Right first time!

Good luck getting it sorted. To answer your question, the CD player is not mp3 compatible but you have the following options:

1. Leave it as it is

2. Fit icelink/vw own branded ipod interface

3. Rip it out and fit another that is mp3 compatible

Right first time!

Welcome to Briskoda! Different woes, but I'm a Honda owner now!

Have a search on Celtic Tuning.

I doubt you will still be very impressed with there reputation, and figures are certainly a no no.

185hp, is not possible without a hell of a lot of modifications.

You'd be looking around 160+ BHP.

185BHP is very possible on a map alone, the question is how long will the turbo survive....
