My Felicia having slight problems with accelerator...

Featured Replies

Hello all !

I new to this board , but am very pleased ive found it !

Ove the last couple of days the accelerator on my car felicia 1.6 is not right.... I seem to have to push the accelerator more than normal when pulling away to get it to move, which is worrying to be honest ,as i have to remember to rev it more. Any advise is greatly appriciated as im getting worried about it ! many thanks :-) :)

do you mean the pedal has moved down??

or you mean you need more revs to make it move without stalling??

Hello :-)

I think it may have moved down alittle to be honest as once it's pressed down it's working fine... just needs more pressing down than normal

Many thanks

if you remove the plastic cover on top of the engine, you can see clearly the throttle cable on top of the engine.. the sleeve of the cable has a kind of rubber grommet on the end which engages with a metal bracket, it is likely that the cable just needs tightening up to remove the slack.. you do this by pulling out the grommet and moving it along then pushing it back down into the bracket....

it's not easy to explain it with words, but when you see it, it's really obvious how to adjust it.

its an easy job as well, Im a total novice and managed to do it in about 10 minutes.

yer pi$$ easy job. its the outer of the cable that your pulling back.

(just in case)

Just one word of warning - don't overdo it and leave the throttle slightly open all the time as this messes up your fuel consumption and cold idle. DAMHIKT!
