service due on 11th of next month yet no light???

Featured Replies

hi guys, from what i understand the octavia mk1 vrs i own has a service reminder light, according to the manual its due on the 11th of may (i wont be reaching the 10k milage limit) yet i have no light as of yet... ive booked it in for friday but was just wondering wether i should be expecting to see one or not??? (last 2 services were 12 month apart and i spoke to the guy who serviced it last at psi tuning and he says he knows the car well and its on fixed intervals)

is summat broken?

It depends if it was reset correctly last time it was done.

the service book indicates the car has been serviced (since new) every 10k,

1st service by skoda

2nd service by awesome

3rd service by psi tuning

That may be so but the indicator has to be reset after the service is completed.

Don't complain, mine and a few others service lights have come on when they weren't expected  .............

thats my exact concern! that as its not on they wont reset it(off to jct600 cos they r doing a deal on servicing for 89.99) and ill end up with it going off at the wrong time.:(

where is the service light on the dash? cant see one when turning the ignition on.

I never had a light as such, just got a message where the trip miles is displayed stating service "xxxx" miles until the counter got to zero then it just says service now IIRC.

I thought it was a bit bad as it's very possible to miss it altogether if you weren't looking for it.

cheers, ill keep an eye out for it, ill make sure i speak to the mechanic servicing it and mention it to him. service desk peoples tend to ignore any requests like that in my experience.
