Dirct line insurance...are they trying it on?

Has anyone on here ever tested this? Knowing insurance companies, it may not affect your NCD, but it will affect your premium loading and insurance companies are out to make a profit!

I don't know if its ever been tested, but I'd say chances are that your premium would go up, but just due to the claim. Better than the double whammy of increase in prem because of the claim AND increase in prem because of loss of NCD.

Now about this for a test - have protected NCD. Write off car (totally own fault)and claim. Buy new(er), bigger, faster, and more expensive car in higher IG. Transfer insurance policy, and get money back from insurer (premium refund, not just claim payout)! :D
