fabia 1.2 sedan 64hp

Featured Replies

hello everybody!

this is my first post on briskoda.

i want to buy a new fabia sedan 1.2 whit 64 hp. Some owners can tell me wy this is not a good thing?

thanks!

The only reason I can think of is that a new Fabia sedan bought at the moment would be a run-out unit of the Mk1 Fabia. The sedan version of the Mk1 Fabia wasn't very good-looking to most people, so didn't sell as well as the hatchback, or even the estate (in the UK at least). This would affect how it retains its value, I suppose. As for the engine, I think the 64bhp version of the 1.2 engine is the 12v unit. I didn't think they were all that bad, to be honest - especially as they're chain-cam, so should be fairly robust. Could be wrong, though...

so... nobody knows how much drink fabia 1.2 12v...

Depends on if theres a lot of stop and go and driving style - typically in the 40s mpg range

MK1 sedan - so there actually was such a thing - thought my eyes were playing tricks when i saw what i thought was a hatch with sort of tail fins - thought "sedan" - but never seen one advertised on Skoda sites.

Handles a tad better than the hatch, but apart from that nothing else different

Seen them in the flesh and they don't look too bad, heard a lot say they didn't like them but suppose it up to you.Looks ok to me.

Because there wasn't one?

The saloon (sedan) came in 1.4 75bhp (auto petrol), 1.4 100bhp (manual petrol) or 1.9 64bhp (manual diesel):)

O no they don't not in the UK. I had a 1.4 16v 100bhp and now have a 1.9 diesel. Gyp was right only three versions available in UK. The new Fabia 2 will not have a saloon version in the UK so will keep my car a bit longer as am not to keen on the hatchback much prefer the 4door SALOON

The sedan was a much more popular model in Europe than in the UK. We had a few oddball ones as loan cars some years back.

But of course as I keep forgetting, Briskoda.net is a global site, not just UK. Admittedly most of the regular posters seem to be UK based, but I should have ben thinking global :)

So, on that basis, the 1.2 64bhp engine is fine if you're not in a hurry - it's fine when it gets going but it takes a while to get wound up.

If you want a saloon/sedan, then there's not a lot to complain about with the Fabia one. I quite liked one and would have considered a 1.9D, but as the car was mainly for the missus she said it must be the hatch.

That better?

hello skoda fans!

I have 8000 km whit my Fabia sedan 1.2 bhp 12v and, for the moment, I have no regrets. It's just enough for me and my family( just 1 kid 1 years old). The car drinks more than "they" said in the books, but it's all wright.

They always do 'drink' more than they say! Im glad youre enjoying you car though!! :)

I bought a Fabia 1.2 12v for my other half and we both love it. It's not fast, but it's fun, but you're right though about the consumption. Today I averaged 60mpg in the Octavia TDi, but struggle to better 40mpg in the Fabia.

Glad you're glad, my fabia it's ok at 6900 miles. The average consumption: 31.5 mpg. No problem even at 106 mph.
