Hello and welcome. This area of the forum is to ask about things one doesn't understand about the Briskoda site itself. As you are already posting in the Octavia forum, that is the best place to receive an answer. A Moderator will probably come along and move this for you :)

Briskoda tends to be more active on weekdays, so don't worry if you don't get a response straight away.

I remember when I fitted my ABD CAI kit I had to reset the ecu by doing the following:

After you've fitted the cai and the car is cold, open the bonnet and driver's door and put the keys in the ignition so all the fans etc in the car come on. You should hear some beeping etc coming from the engine. When all the noises have stopped, close bonnet and door and turn the engine on. Leave to idle for a few mins.

Don't know if this will help but worth a try!

Thats for resetting the throttle body.

You will need the fault codes read off to find the cause. The TCS light will come on if there is a fault with the engine as it cant operate tration control if the engine has a problem.

And the pipe is for the secondary air injection pump (not a breather).

i fitted a CAI about a year ago and i didnt get a warning light, however when changing back to the std filter, the warning light come on, went to the dealer, said im getting a weak signal from my MAF sensor, and to give it a clean, also the traction control light kept coming on. Ive now given it a clean, and will do the throttle body too, then get the light reset, fingers crossed it will solve it, if not they recommend a new MAF, which is

The TCS light usually comes on when there's a problem with the MAF (dont know why). First thing to do is scan your vehicle with VagCom or a similar scanning tool.

If you cant do that right away, try resetting your ECU. This is done by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. This will reset all your adaptions to the default values and your car will relearn everything again. But instead of guessing what the problem/solution is, focus on getting a scanning tool.

i had the same problem last week two days after fitting my jabba induction kit the traction control light came on. then the engine management light came on a few hours later. so i took it to my loacal tunner who read & reset my fault code which was signal to week from maf. they recomended to clean the maf or they had a new one in stock as i need the car every day for work i changed it . i had been running an oiled jetex pannel filtter since gti international last year this may have left oil deposits on the sensor and caused the problem .

the pipercross induction kits are oiled fairly heavily but to cause the fault code in such a short space of time the maf may well have been on its way already.

if u get your fault codes read and cleard the lights may come back on again my tunner only charges me once for the reset. if the prob persists check this as you may get charged twice.

Cheers all for your responses especially Stuart for being an absolute star, Thanks!!and your all right cause the filter had just been cleaned and oiled and had left dodgy deposits on the maf wire, the car wouldnt run 1 day later sputting and spitting , really gutted with myself unt ill this morning when i got up i just typed in " cleaning the maf" and whehe , choke/injector/carb cleaner the key, took maf sensor off gave it double good blast of it, ialso sprayed loads of it over the filter which was cool as it lifted all the oil to the surface and is simply dabbed away !!! Stu mentioned it previously about above cleaner, BUZZIN !!! car back to norm absol fine just need to reset ecu now to get rid of warning lights, but the problem is that i havnt got the code for the stereo im gonna chase up next week unless theres a way round it??????????????? Thanks again.

I gave my MAF a good clean, but the warning light is still on after getting it reset, not good, will try giving the throttle body a clean when i get a new gasket for it. then try resetting the lights again... if that fails, new MAF :(

If it's the original radio that the car came with, you should just be able to switch it on and start the engine, once it has been recognised it will work.

Procedure for radio reset:-

1) Switch radio off.

2) Switch on ignition and start engine

3) Switch radio on, and wait a few seconds.

If this fails, contact the original supplying dealer for the code.

As for the TCS light sticking on, that's cos the extra 2 fousant brake the CAI's givin you'se makin' the wheels spin all the time innit!? ;)

jUST A QUICKIE FOR YOU, AFTER READING MY QUESTIONS SENT IN IN APPROX 6 MONTHS AGO ABT WARNING LIGHTS AFTER CHANGING AIR FILTER, THE BIG PROBLEM WAS PUTTING ON THE MAFF HOUSING UNIT BACK TO FRONT, IT CAN BE EASILY DONE AS IT WILL WORK BUT BRINGS UP WARNING LIGHTS, WHAT A NUMPTY EH! IF YOUR HAVING SAME PROBS CHECK THE MAFF WIRE IN THE HOUSING IS POINTING TOWARDS THE AIR FILTER/INDUCTION KIT!!!!
