impossible performance!!!!!

Featured Replies

unless you want to go beyond 400hp this would not be a factor...

easiest swap then is a chevy v8 on the back seats.

Did you say 300bhp from the stock turbo? on a VRs?

So have you driven their ibiza... as you say lag.?

eh?

NO i have not thats why i was asking(anyone been out in it)!!

LAG i was refering to my own car SORRY if i confused you.

Try the Ibiza, I did twice & I liked it for the power delivery as well as being an absolute peach to drive slowly & yes a car needs to be an everyday car as well as go like the preverbial when asked.

I thought the overall feel when driving the car was superb, it just felt a lot of power for such a small car with front wheel drive but saying that Im a 4x4 fan as most people know.

In the Octy with a bit more weight & a stiffer body it might be slightly tamer but 300+ bhp through the front wheels is always going to be hard on tyres but what the heck, its fun. There are a few Golfs around running similar power & they seem to cope & its the same floor pan as the Octavia.

Didn't that new Saab turbo get slated by Top Gear for exactly this reason, having more than 200bhp and being only fwd? They reckoned it was pointless, but imho the vrs felt like it could handle quite a bit more than standard.

its been done / do-able.. dont get me wrong not sure how long the stock one would last as it would be being over driven.. but will let you know...:D
