Nokia CK-7W - Control Box location

Featured Replies

I have recently replaced my Nokia 6230i with a Nokia 6233.

I have a Nokia CK-7w carkit with cradle, so all i needed to do was replace the cradle....

Problem: The nee cradle no longer uses the same arial coupler, but has one integrated, so i need to find the control box to connect the new coax lead.

I have already looked in the following places

1. Behind the stereo

2. above the stereo (directly beneath air vents).

3. tucked in on the right between stereo and drivers footweel - placing head in the headunit space.

4. behind the glovebox

I have tried pulling the calble and look for any wire movement with no joy.

does anyone know where it might be as I am tempted to take to Halfords and ask them nicely (probably costing) to have a look?

It will be there somewhere...most probably tucked behind the glovebox or to the top right if you have a MKII Octavia...........My suggestion would be to remove the entire glovebox and side trim to the gear box tunnel....sounds dramatic but isn't...then you may find the phone kit control unit, i am assuming this is waht you are looking for....

I will shortly be having the same carkit fitted into my octy. The cradle for my phone has an aerial connection, but I dont think the installer will be connecting this at all as there is no plan to fit an external aerial to the car.

Behind the gear stick underneath the central column... at least, that's where I've hidden my Parrot control module.

The Aerial connection does not go back to the control module.

It is approx 6 inches away from the coupler, so you need to trace where the wires are going. Then simply unscrew the old, and scew in the new.

Thanks all, does anyone know how to remove the carpet section from the footwell wall that sits up against the centre console?. I can see one T20 but can't seem to seperate it.

The cable from the cradle goes in through the gap between the ashtray lid and the bottom of the console facia.

I wouldn't bank on the mobile arial being good enough, and if (like me) the cradle has the connection you have about an extra

will i need to remove the A/C control unit ?

Yeah, but thats just 4 screws and some connectors.

Thanks guys, managed to get the car in the Garage this afternoon as the weathers bloody awful.

Removed the facia, the 4 T20 screws around the A/C control unit and found the control box along with the arial connector.
