Rain closing does work!!

Featured Replies

I have been wondering about this ever since I noticed the "rain closing" option in the maxidot menu. However, I had always been under the impression that only cars with sunroofs actually did anything with this.

Well, I was a little perplexed yersterday morning at the BBQ meet because I left the windows half down, then locked the car and disabled the alarm when I went to get something to eat. When I got back the windows were closed. IT hadn't been raining but blossom had been falling on the car, so I wondered.

Yesterday and today I've witnessed it happening again, so it would appear that rain closing does work on MY07 cars without sunroof (although obviously it requires you to have maxidot to enable the feature, or vagcom I suppose, and rain sensing wipers).

It took about 20 seconds of rain before the car responded, but still it was pretty cool.

Well, you're just showing off now! ;)

Sounds a cool feature though mate

Steve

what a nice sensible thing as long as its reliable :)

That is pretty cool actually

And I was hoping your seats were going to get wet :P

Yes, it will help keep the smell of burnt sausages inside your car:P

Hmmm.

not sure that would be so good for us, on monday we locked our dogs in the car with all the windows down by about 4", it did rain, and in this particular situation I would not have wanted the windows to close automatically.

How do you enable it on VAGCOM?

Very clever...but it begs the question....why would you leave your car with its windows open?? I know I certainly wouldn't! lol

I do at work often during the summer so it doesn't get too hot inside, I guess it'd be helpful if a brief downpour came over.

Good point re the dog, on mine though as it can be switched on through maxidot it can also be switched off. :)
