Octavia II Ignition Wire

Featured Replies

Hi,

I fitted a Sony Ericsson HCB-700 car kit after I purchased my Octavia in January. At the time, I did not have the patience to look intently for an ignition wire to connect to the car kit. I could not find an ignition connection at the rear of the head unit. Did I miss it?

In hindsight, I should have as it is a pain leaving the car and forgetting to turn the kit off. If I do not move far enough away, the phone remains connected and the call ends up in the car.

Anyway, where can I find the ignition wire on an Octavia II Tdi?

Thanks

Anthony.

Very well covered recently. I have the same kit in my car and have answered many questions on that same topic, the search button will be your friend for this one.

As stu says a search will be your friend...

To summarise there isn't one and you have to run it from the fuse box.

No there is.

No there is.

Would you like to tell me which pin of the Quadlock connector this is on then please.

Had similar problem recently when I had a Parrot Car kit installed. Turns out there is no switched live going to the head unit so simply snipped of the wire (orange in my case), spliced on an extra bit of wire and led it to the fuse box, where there is a spare connector marked "phone".

No there is.

Do tell, I certainly don't know of an ignition switched live for the Octy II that is in the radio loom.
