Anyone tried Fullrun tyres?

Featured Replies

I'm going to be in the market for some new tyres shortly and have come across these budget ones on Ebay...

eBay.co.uk: 4x 235/45/17 Fullrun Tyres ***SPECIAL OFFER*** (item 300108674856 end time 15-May-07 15:50:38 BST)

Anyone any experience with them? The tread pattern looks remarkable similar to the Avon ZZ3's that I'm running at the moment.

I appreciate that tyres are not somethig to skimp on, so other recommendations would also be good.

I'm particularly looking for something with good life - I'm doing about 25k miles per year and really don't want to have to buy a set every six months.

Again, I appreciate that grip vs life is nearly always a compromise, but funds are tight and if I have to adjust my driving style for something with slightly less grip then so be it.

Finally any good review sites out there other than TyreTest.com - Consumer tyre test reports which I don't find particulary user freindly.

They don't sound very promising with the advert reading "sporty looking" and "hard compound", neither of which to me are pointing towards anything even remotely performance orientated.

That said though, you never know! I'd personally stick with a brand I know though, Michelins are quite hard wearing in my experience, although their grip falls down as a consequence.

try the federals.... they are budget tyres, and I put a pair on the fron of the fabia, when I knew it was going soon (so just wanted cheap stuff) and they were suprisingly good... almost as good as the top brands at half the price!

Cheers for the comments guys.

Its looking like Falken 452s at the moment - they seem to have the optimum combination of grip/wear/price from the reading I have been doing so far.

I've run the falkens , and the avons... the falkens are just as good :)

Id second the recommendation for Federals :) SS595's! Seem to be grippys as the Toyo T1r's i took off (they only lasted about 6k!!)

about to get 2 more for the rear !

try toyo proxes very good tyre wet&dry

Agree that the proxies are good in wet or dry, but my experience has been that in the damp, or slightly greasy, these can be fidgety, and NOT too godd with grip.

All I wil say is that on replacement, I will not be getting them again,

Just my 2p :)

Ive got a set on the front of my VRS and to be honest im supprised by how good they are, not only is the tread pattern similar to Eagle F1`s, they appear to be wearing well and no noisier than any other ive had on the front ( Nankang NS1 and 2 + Factory fit).

I`m so impressed by them i will be sticking a set on thew back next month.

ALL I CAN SAY IS I HAD WORN OUT GOODYEAR TYRES ON MY CAR, FOUND THESE "FULLRUN" TYRES PAID

Thanks for your wee review there!

However, please refrain from using just CAPITAL LETTERS THE WHOLE TIME, it comes across like you are shouting.

Many thanks! :)

Hi I have used these tyres on my Jag XJ8 for the last 12 months and found them excellent, they grip well and wear is better than the pirellis I was running on. a downside is my fuel consumtion is very slightly higher.

my tyres are low profile 18inch and the savings I made on price was amazing.

Just as a matter of interest, I used to work for Dunlop tyres who at the time were selling a tyre called the SP40 which was a premium tyre at a premium price, Thier budget range was called John Bull.

all we did was change the the Name Tag in the tyre mould for the John Bull production run. So dont always rely on the old adage you only get what you pay for

thanks for your wee review there!
