Featured Replies

Hello all,

I am almost deffinately gonna be trading in my 172 Cup for a Fab in the next couple of weeks due to the receipt of 6 points in the last 3 weeks! :finger: and therefore my insurance being the best part of

Welcome to the site!

The engine internals and six speed 'box are strong enough to handle the power and torque upgrade that a chip will give. The clutch would be the weakest point and they can slip but these kind of problems are rare (325lb/ft +)

 welcome again

Wings in Peterborough are Superchips friendly I believe

Whether you would want a Superchip is another matter.............

Si - try sounding out a few dealers before worrying about "approved" chips/remaps - there's quite a few around who don't get shirty at the idea of you "improving" the car... :)

Welcome Si !

Did you come by any chance from the DVD forums?

Welcome Si.

There are lots of different tuners available to you. Superchips, Jabbasport, AMD, Revo plus a few more. As for the dealers, there are a few out there who are lenient towards mod's, but not too many. :(

If you go for a re-map, then you are correct with your bhp figure. 180ish is the norm. The torque figure is usually 300+lb ft though! :D

I have a Jabba map and am very impressed with the driveability and performance it gives.

And i've gone a bit mental :)

Have a search about the site, lots has been covered. Have a look though the tuners section or search for AmD/Jabba etc.

Just need to find the funds first!

Any jobs going at yours! :P

Would be a bit far for me to travel even if there was unfortunately. It is something I have thought of many times though. :D

Cheers for the advice lads.

I took a vRS out for a short (5-10 mins) test drive on the way home from work, still managed to get the traction light blinking in the first 2 gears at every possible oppotunity!!

Was quite impressed with the little beast!

Now to go about selling the Clio to finance the bugger.

I had the same problem. The light comes even more often now though. Even in 3rd gear! :D
