Hello just spotted a audi S3 6 speed gearbox on ebay and want to know , will it work on my 2001 octy vrs , what drive shafts to use etc etc etc...

It was off a quattro, so I imagine not?

That's right. Works fine on a 2wd. TT/S3 drive shafts will be needed and a 6spd clutch and flywheel. I also think the starter motor has to be replaced too IIRC.

It can definetly be done, it's how all the 6spd FWD conversions used to be done before a 6spd FWD was available. Gary Handa's Mk4 Golf (better known as MRK IV due to the private plate) is probably the best known example but there's plenty of others out there.
