Fab vRS Rocker cover change

Featured Replies

The gasket on the rocker cover needs to be changed on my new Fabia. It must have got caught on assembly and is gently leaking oil down the front of the engine.

It looks a fairly simple job. Remove the top part of the cambelt cover and then unbolt the rocker cover bolts and away you go.

Could one of the Skoda techies on here have a look at what's involved and just let me know if I'm right or not. It's just nice to be sure what you're talking about when you take it into the service department. For me this is the worst part of owning a new car, after 15 years of being able to do your own maintenance.

IIRC the gasket is part of a new cover.

Its quite simple just have to fiddle a bit where the throttle housing is as its a bit tight.

Cheers Ross,

They've done it this morning and done a pretty good job, no greasy fingerprints, dents or scratches so I'm pretty pleased. I can get back to my 100mile aimless thrashes that seem to be happening alot since buying the Fabia 10 days ago. :D
