My little Furby got hit !

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!

After last week having a silly biatch nearly wipe me out on a fast motorway roundabout this may be becoming an unlucky car :(

Sat at the roadside with a client today talking them through the right reverse manoevre when we hear some racing high speed engines. Look ahead to see one of those stand-upon mowers used to trim the verge coming at high speed, with the drivers mates in the transit one inch (and I am not exagerating) behind him laughing and enjoying themselves. I looked at the gap between me and the car parked opposite and thought, OH NO ! I reached out for my mirror to try and save it but chickened out, prefering to loose a mirror than an arm. They must have taken a layer of wax off, but to my amazement didn't hit it. My rear bumper didn't fair as well though. There was a scraping noise and the car rocked. I leapt from the car and went after them, catching the mower guy who'd pulled in to trim a verge, oblivious to what had happened behind him. The van drivers were away and around the corner. He told me they were all part of a crew and they'd be waiting for him around the corner. I ran back to my car and went and found them, informing the driver that he'd not see the day out with a job if I had my way. 1/2 an hour later their gaffer arrived and was very polite and appologetic, advising me to visit a local bodyshop with whom they have a contract and all would be sorted for me. When I filled him in as to the happenings he assured me that they would not be in employment by the end of the day. Thankfully, the damage is minor, with just a few scratches which will easilly buff out and a blow over will see it right.

Just mulling over whether to report them to the Plod for dangerous driving now :D

I vote tell Plod

They probably will still be in a job tomorrow, just having received a slight rollocking.

Sorry to hear your bad news.:(

I'd vote for a quiet word with plod too. If that's how a mower is driven I'd hate to think how they'd drive a car.

Good to hear the car's not too badly damaged.

another example of "its only fun untill someone gets hurt/has an accident" quick call to plod as these are also the people who mow on the housing estates and next time it could be a child.
