Nokia carkit now installed

Featured Replies

I know I said that it would be installed by a professional, but as I had all the bits I decided to do it myself and it was easier than I thought.

Mounted the mic at the top of the A pillar trim, mounted the control box behind the climatronic controls, attached to the bottom of the stereo compartment. Everything went really well, soldered and taped the power connections then connected the tel mute to the stereo quadlock and inserted the new connection for the telephone input. Tested it all and working fine, so mounted the cradle onto the brodit mount then put the dash back together again before mounting the brodit.

Looks pretty neat, and the cradle matches the silver dash trim nicely. Still deciding where to place the little control button.

Stu, I noticed you didnt have the audience wiring connections on your website. The audience connections are the same as the normal stream model, not the mp3 one.

Good job :) I fitted a basic nokia car kit in my old car, the worst part was organising the wires.

i installed a handsfree kit onto my kenwood a little while back, was even easier as its bluetooth and touch screen :D

just a box hidden away behind the dash :)

it looks really neat, especially because I didnt use the speaker with the kit. I bought the necessary wiring connector from the skoda dealer and needed to custom make a connection for the telephone mute function on the audience as its different to the stream mp3 and run the sound through the headunit. When someone calls you, or you call someone the hu switches from its source and the display changes to PHONE and the sound comes out of the hu speakers with really good quality sound.

This carkit can also pair with a bluetooth phone as long as the main phone is not in the cradle.

Top job Manny. I noticed on one of the labels it was labeld Stream and Audience but I wasn't 100% sure.

Not sure where on the A pillar you have the microphone but I had mine tucked in neatly by the top of the screen and it suffered terribly with wind noise.
