Feelin Hot Hot Hot!

Featured Replies

Was a warm morning today with the sun beaming down, so I decided to turn the temp down and put the AC on.

A few minutes later I noticed the car was getting warmer, before long it was roasting...seriously you could have fired pottery in there! This with the temp dial on the lowest possible setting.

Ive done a quick search on the forum and the motor that controls some sort of temperature regulating vent could be the culprit. Does anyone have any other suggestions and what is the cost of getting such a problem fixed out of warranty??

Yes, you have guessed it already. Your flap motor is stuck and the nice cool airconditioned air was going nowhere near your vents. I am not famillier with the fabia, or how easy it is to access the flap to try and unstick it.

Should be able to reset with VAG-COM which would be my first point of call to try before looking to replace the flap motors :D

ahhh right, well youve hit the edge of my ignorance there.

Im not familiar with VAG-COM even tho ive heard the name bandied about.

Do i need to buy one of these diagnostics thingies, bet they cost a bomb and dont they invaldate a warranty.

im sure if you ask nicely someone who lives close by will have the tool to do the job and will do it for a drink. it only takes a few mins to do

Won't invalidate warranty, but can be costly. I'd recommend finding a local Briskodian, or ask your dealer to do it (but get a quote for the work first!)...
