Intercooler

Featured Replies

Should my 110TDi L&K have an intercooler???

My car had its cambelt changed at weekend, and when the inner wheel arch was taken off I spotted a intercooler on the inside of my bumper, and didn't know it had one.

On speaking to the machanic (Who is a friend) said he was unaware that skoda put them on the cars.

My question is, is this a standard part, or will it be an aftermarket intercooler???

Cheers in advance.

Chris

No offence. But... A mechanic like that, I wouldn't let near my car.

Oh, and it's a standard Intercooler.

Me thinks thats what the i in TDi stands for

I think its injection

Turbo Direct Injection

Oh. I thought it was Turbo Diesel Injection. :D You learn something new every day!

I always thought the 'i' in TDi was intercooler as i think you'll find all diesel engines are injection

from wiki "The modern diesel engine is a combination of two inventors' creations. In all major aspects, it holds true to Diesel's original design, that of the fuel being ignited by compression at an extremely high pressure within the cylinder"
