EML on then off?

Featured Replies

I had the engine management light come on last week for about 4 or 5 days with no loss in performance, everything seemed as normal.

Yesterday the light seems to have reset itself so now it's off and things are as before.

I'm wondering if I should get this checked or whether it was just a slight sensor malfunction?

Will the fault be stored and will Vagcom be able to see what it is?

It's a 51 plate Octy Vrs but I don't think knowing the specific model matters but always worth addin it just incase.

Vag com will store a fault code sounds like something is faulty but may be intermittant

hi bigal rallyred,i have vag com if u need it checked out,im over in fife,im a fully qualified mechanic.give us a shout

Thanks for the offer  , if it comes back on I'll give you a shout.

As i said the car seems to be running as normal, to be fair it's only done less than 1000 miles since christmas so maybe it just needs a good run!

It's people like you that make the forum what it is, can't express how much help and advise I've received in the 2 1/2 years since joining.

I had exactly the same for about 10 days then the light went off, it went in for a service and they did a diagnostic and it was showing a fault code for the lambda sensor, HTH!

No problems since it went off!
