I received my rear aero wiper this morning and fitted it on the car..... Now when i fitted the same wiper on my old Polo GTi the clip on cover that goes over the nut / washer jet was just slightly out and every so often would pop up a little. On the fabia the cover doesn't even clip down properly because the bottom edge touches the glass before it can clip in place meaning the jet is obstructed all the time.

I just wondered if anybody had come up with a work around???

The only things i could think of were to put a washer under the wiper arm to lift the arm away from the glass just enough to allow the cover to clip down correctly. Or to file away the bottom of the cover so as to give the extra clearance.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, this happened with mine and when the dust/dirt got into it, it would make a grinding noise as it operated.

I took the plastic cover off and flattened it off with a sheet of 320 grit W/D taking between 0.5mm and 1mm off it.

I've just sanded off around 1-1.5mm off the bottom edge and it now fits perfectly. Has about the same gap around the bottom as the OEM one had. The cover now CLICKS into place as it should.

In answer to your question..... Yes you can.

The rear wiper is actually sold as three seperate items..... The arm, The blade & the cap.

Not sure on part numbers though..... Just ask for the cap for a current polo rear wiper....... Or is there a part number on the inside of the cap itself????

I think you can, when I got mine all the parts (i.e. cap, wiper arm and wiper blade) had different part numbers etc.....

I'll confirm this one pretty soon!

Roomster/New Fabia front wipers won't fit the current Fabia. :(

The arms will have clearance issues with the bonnet.
