hmmm dont like the sound of that myself....

you could get the same effect by applying less pressure to the accelerator pedal

I'll stick my neck out and say, don't bother. :)

  utter rubbish product IMHO

I could...

...but then friction and its immense weight would bring it to a stop.

I am already as light on the accelerator as I can realistically be, thanks for the advice though was the first thing I tried.

The trip computer (I know its not giving a true MPG but it gives a rough idea) used to give me 42mpg on normal runs but now I struggle to get 36/7mpg. Have checked tyre pressures, aircon filter (which did seem to help), PAS sensor fixed (which helped for a day or two), even resorted to giving Redex a go.

Any further ideas??

Sam

You could get the car tuned on a rolling road. Im not talking a custom map but they can alter fuel/air settings and shouldnt cost more than

Reducing the amount of fuel injected and advancing the timing at the same time on a petrol would result in your cylinder temps rocketing and you'd do damage to a variety of components. Also, diesels already run so far lean of stoichiometric anyway that taking it even further would result in high NOX emissions and a hotter burn.

If anyone is stupid enough to fit one of those to their cars they should be shot.

A stupid device.

EDIT - If you car is poor on fuel, change the lambda sensor. They don't last forever and a crucial for telling the ECU how much fuel to inject.

They screw into the exhaust, normally before the cat. Usual cost is around
