v power

Featured Replies

my mk 1 octy vrs ran best with more mpg on shell v power , get my mk 2 vrs 2.0 t fsi at the weekend will this be the same ????? any one help ?? cheers

Mine loves to drink Shell's finest.

Definitely - but if you have a vRS why are you concerned with better mpg. I would have expected you to be looking for more power?

The TFSI engine needs a diet of 98 octane (min) and of course Shell VPower is 99 octane. You could always try adding Millers Octane Plus to take it to 101 octane (bigger bang = more power).

I've always found in my driving life that no 2 engines will like the same fuel supplier.

My works van loves anything, where as another identical I borrowed whilst mine was being butchered by ford, ran terrible with anything other than BP.

Finding my Octy 2 loves BP where as my Mk1 loved Texaco. I'd try your usual and maybe a few of the others and see what feels right.

cheers mate , not really worried about mpg but found a big difference with v power and any other petrol so the car must be running better

Silver ;)

Our local BP does the 102 ron Ultimate, just dont look at the price.

whats this miller stuff and where can i get it?

Got caught short at Dover last week and had to put Ultimate in, BP state 97, cost

Well as Shell garages are few and far between in Northern Ireland and in fact I cannot locate one that sells V Power fuel at all, then it's going to have to be BP Ultimate in mine. I have to say, having put a tankful of V Power in my car in England and having run it on BP Ultimate since I came back, I cannot notice any difference in power between the two. Having said that, I still only have 650 miles on the clock, so perhaps time will tell :)
