How much work involved (FMIC)

Featured Replies

You might want to look on the Forge website: Forge Motorsport

In the 'media' section, there's a good PDF 'how to' for removal/fitting etc on the vRS, so you'll be able to see the work involved.

For the one you mention above, yes, you'd need to get some custom pipes. It's a pretty good price above, but to me it's a bit unproven.

how much work would be involved to get this to fit my fabia vrs and cost?

coz i know i would need custom piping am i correct

one problem i can see is you would have to construct a custom mounting for the mass air pressure senser (MAP) as its mounted to the original side mount cooler, and obviously you loose that when u fit a fmic

also i think that particular one looks a little big for the fabia, might create more lag than the specially made forge one?

I think it would be a fair bit of work and the custom pipes would push the price up a little.

I think if you are going to all that trouble you will want

proven results.

thanks for thoughts people think i might just save than rather get the first thing i see then not see any results save for a forge one :D

Just been and measured mine: at 65 mm thick it will be a very tight fit between the radiator and the inside of the crash bar.

hmmmm will have to have a think and do some measurements tar for the information BRYAND what is the thickness of yours

One thing that you may wish to consider is the interface between custom and OEM pipework. Forge supply some nicely machined parts with their I/C kit and I would imagine you'd need to source something similar.

Mine's a standard Forge one, which is 40mm thick, I believe.

If you're looking to go down the FMIC 'DIY' route, I believe a Laguna intercooler maybe suitable, IIRC?

Obviously you still need to source fixings and pipework.

I could be completely wrong, but it may be an avenue worth exploring?
