Any known coding issues with the Ibiza Mk4?

Featured Replies

I've seen a few threads now regarding incorrect coding of the engine module on the fabia causing the aircon not to work. We've had an ongoing problem with the climate control not working on the Ibiza, we've looked at various things to solve it but basically the compressor never kicks in. The car is a 2002 Ibiza Mk4 TDI Sport 130PD with ABS and climate. I'm hoping maybe one of the vagcom experts that visit the forum can help with this. The current soft coding for the engine module is 20002.

Any chance you could post an Auto-Scan and also check/post the compressor shut off codes of the climate control itself?

I'll post up the autoscan tomorrow. How/where do I get the compressor shut off codes?

Meas. Value Block (MVB) 002 Field 3 of the climate control unit.

How do you know the compressor isn't kicking in?

That's what an aircon specialist told me.

Meas. Value Block (MVB) 002 Field 3 of the climate control unit.

the value in there is 217.0

I can't run auto scan yet as I don't have access to the full version until Friday. However I have found a fault code on 09-Cent. Elect. as follows:

Control Module Part Number: 6Q1 937 049 B

Component and/or Version: BORDNETZ-SG. 1S31

Software Coding: 00140

Work Shop Code: WSC 06403

1 Fault Found:

00907 - Intervention load Management

35-00 - -

EDIT: Just done a quick search on another forum and this code seems to be something to do with the climate control unit shedding non-critical loads. I also have an intermittent code to do with the alternator but haven't got a problem with the battery and the alternator seems to work fine. Is this all connected?

I looked this code up on Ross Tech Wiki, they seem to think that it is more advisory then serious.

This should be the coding for a Fabia ECU with a diesel engine, air con and ABS

00006.

You could try asking on a specific Seat forum what other peoples ECU codings are for your engine and chassis options.

Yeah I've read that. I still think it's something to investigate and that prehaps the problem with the alternator isn't fully sorted, I also think it could be related to the wipers stopping working again.

Right I've done a bit more digging and I think it's been caused by the alternator/alternator wiring. However if anyone has any other suggestions then please feel free to let me have them.

Steve - any idea.

I know Steve had lots of electrical issues with his Ibiza which boiled down to alternator wiring. :)

Do you mean Wardy? If so I'll PM him with a pointer to this thread.

Yes I do mean Wardy :)

Hi guys - yes, had an alternator/charging issue. Required a new alternator and some patching up of cables in the loom. The issue never really went away for me, which manifested itself in 'lazy' starting and random dash lights coming on. Afterwards, the alternator was charging when it should be, but the starting still wasn't as it should have been.

I never had anything like you've experienced Eddy, no issues with climate, compressor etc so I'm afraid I can't be of any direct help. My threads on the issue I had were http://www.briskoda.net/forums/ask-tech/starting-problem/69705/?highlight=alternator and http://www.briskoda.net/forums/ask-tech/fairly-major-electrics-issue/72074/?highlight=alternator

Hmm, there's no starting issues and the alternator wiring has been tested. There was a problem with the wiring (a corroded pin in one of the connectors), however this has been fixed which sorted the problem of the battery not charging at idle. However there's been no warning lights etc.. but the code keeps coming back regarding the DF signal from the alternator. A new alternator isn't cheap and I'm not sure it's to blame as other than the code the alternator appears to be doing it's job.
