Whars the best stuff for cleaning the windows inside and what is the best method, its a pet hate of mine as within a day or two the windows always seem to get a smear on them and even worse first thing in the morning. Only one car ive ever had did i not have the problem when it was valeted, every other one i have. So is there a secret for getting a smear free window?

Warm water, vinegar, and a single drop of washing up liquid.

Wipe off with newspaper ;)

is there a particular amount of vinegar to add?

Autoglym window polish does it for me. Apply with a cloth, leave to dry then wipe off with a clean cloth.

Autoglym is good. I also like Megs NXT cleaner, although difficult to use in direct sunlight. Best to use 2 microfibres cloths for applying and buffing. I can clean all the windows on a car in about 5 minutes and no hassle.

Same as above, Cant beat cleaning the car on a sunday then using the morning paper to clean yer windows :D

ive tried the autoglym window cleaner, fine on the outside but still a smeary problem on the inside, there was a foam spray i used years ago which combined with a special cleaning cloth (both no longer sold and certainly nothing on the market matches it these days) it did a brilliant job. the cleaning cloth i beleive was from tesco's and was marketed towards housecleaning type area, but was brilliant for windows.

rain x foaming glass cleaner, works inside and out,

then rain x water pepelent on the outside after there clean

I know what you mean about smeary windows on the inside.

I have both tried and continue to use the following products which I can guarantee you will not be disappointed with.

Of the spray cleaners, Stoner Invisible Glass is the best I've used, without question.

Of the cream cleaners/polishes, I use Autoglym Glass Cleaner, Mer Windscreen Cleaner and Einszett Glass Polish. Turtle Wax Glass Polish is also good especially when Halfords have a 3 for 2 offer on!

Use two cloths like mentioned before and you might like to try cleaning the windows with meths first before to use the products to make them sparkle.

As in metholated spirits (however its spelt)? Or is it a car cleaning product??? sorry if it sounds a thick question!!

Yes, thats right. Methylated spirits is the right name for it. Some people also used to add it to there screenwash to stop it freezing or just use it all year round. It can give your passengers a headache though as I remember my dad using it and the smell of it coming into the interior of the VW Derby he had at that time.

I am a window cleaner (part time) and i personally think the best way to clean inside windows is a bit of elbow grease with a clean dry old t-shirt (no buttons!). If there are any dirty bits that really dont want to come off, a little drop of water or saliva always does the job! The reason why windows go smeary is usually because products are used on them.

Just my two pennies worth. Im sure the other methods work well too.

James

mr muscle window cleaner and kitchen roll,

just remember to spray loads onto the kitchen roll not the window itself otherwise it goes everywhere,

then get wiping!

easy peasy:)
