I was in Bulgaria on a family holiday about 13 years ago. We were out for a family meal, sitting outside of a restaurant. All of a sudden at the other end of the table this alien looking creature popped up. I browned my trousers and moved quickly away.

It stood about 6 inches tall, frightened me to death. The waiter grabbed a net and caught it.

But for the rest of the holiday i was always looking out for them.

I carried it inside to show SWMBO then spent about five minutes fetching the camera and taking photos before wondering if it was capable of biting me - oops!

Too interested in how cool it was to worry!
