  Ill bear that one in mind next time someone steps out:rofl:

(Joking:P )

I think somebody can also claim for personal injury if they fall onto your car in the street where it's parked?

Well I gave suggestions previously

1 - go on a

Actually that post must have cost me and least
I'm really not having a go at you or anything, just genuinely curious; if I got 6 points I'd start to keep to speed limits (if I didn't already), and after 9, I'd drive like a learner! Assuming they were all 3 pointers which added up, I've always thought it amazing that people get banned for totting up 12 points. I do understand that breaking habits re inadvertent (or deliberate :D) speeding is hard though. I'm alright - my car won't reach speed limits!

Talking sense is always the way to go, and it's good they listened to you. Did you have to do a driving course or anything?

Cheers

Rob

nope no driving course.I will explain a little about the points they were all recieved wwhile driving my 44t artic tipper and all on national speed limit single carraigway roads while traveling at between 44mph and 49mph,as you are all no doubt aware that the speed limit in such a vehicle is 40mph on these roads . I got away with it as my boss explained in court that my truck is one of the newest on the road and has all the latest safety features and actually stops faster than most cars.I then explained that i knew i was exceeding the limit and the reason is that in 13 years of hgv driving i have seen the most appalling accidents caused by impatient drivers taking crazy risks to pass hgv's at 40 where by increasing it to 50 they are in less of a hurry to come by,it was then put to me why i should risk my livelyhood to save an idiot,to which i replied that it was not the idiot i was bothered about ,it was my wife and child or yours innocently coming the other way and that they could take my liscence away but at least i could sleep at night.

I feel oddly vindicated in some ways as 12 months later they are on about trials

of the 50 limit for hgv's on the afore mentioned roads up in Scotland bit late for me tho.

And allmost to back up my story of being a non speedy driver here is a list of my cars i have never been caught speeding in,fabia vrs se,mitsubishi fto, nissan skyline and a little 1.1 peugeot 205 style.

Personally I wish the HGV limit on single carriage way roads was 60MPH. Driving on the sh!tty bit of A1 between Morpeth and Berwick is a feckin nightmare because of the 40MPH limit , which IMHO is totally outdated when applied to modern HGVs.
