Has anyone bought roof bars other than Skoda ones as I believe they are quite expensive at around

So, Thule are actually cheaper than Skoda, then?? Had loads of Thule stuff in the past as Ford OEM roof mounts and bars are usually actually made by Thule.

I have noticed that the new 'aero' style bats won't actually fit old stuff on them as I have these for my Focus and can't fit with my Thule bike mounts

I'd go for the Thule roof bars, thats what I'v got and have used them on my last few cars.

Theire rapid fit system, is really good quality, fits well and is quick to fit and remove.

Tho other advantage of the Thule system is its all interchangable, so when you change cars you will more than likely just have to buy a new fitting kit.

I do belive that the bars you buy from Skoda are actually made by Thule, and from the ones iv seen in the dealership they look isentical.

Are these easy to fit/remove from the Fabia without damaging the paintwork?

It would seem that many car manufacturers use Thule - my Saab OEM bars also!

The Thule ones do not cause any damage to the roof, they self locate in the slots hidden under the little plastic caps ( which break all the time )

Guess what, mine are now up for sale as the vRS is going on the swap Saturday morning. I brought them on holiday just in case I found a roofbox cheap, got the bigger car instead.

Can't get the big brakes off or the towbar before it goes, so someone is in for a suprise when they get it.

Make me an offer before they go on ebay soon, you know the price new, bars, footkit, and fabia roof adaptor kit, the 3 pieces you need to make it complete. All the supliers list them on the net with current prices. I have the key for them too.
