fuel additives

Featured Replies

hi all :

is it recomended to add on fuel from time to time injectors cleaners , or is it harmfull for the engine ?

I was wondering this, I always thought they were a bit of a gimmick... then again I've never had a nice car to warrant using them.

i think they work depending on the mileage and age of vehicle so if your car is new or low on the miles i wouldnt bother

Surely there is more point on a new car, too keep the injectors clean etc, not wait til they get clogged up??? Thats the way i see it anyway. :)

That they do, wonder what damage they think it may do, i use Millers Sport 4, does worry me sometimes that they tell you not too.

i would never put anything in mine i think todays fuels are messed about with enough

Does that mean you should or should'nt lol

I thought that fuels like V-Power has cleaning agents in them anyway?

Edit:

Sorry, I forgot to mention that a mate of mine always puts every conceivable product through his engines and they usually have or develop problems. I never use 'extras' such as additives and have had no problems on the whole with my cars. This is just my experience though.

The joke is that the skoda dealers DO use something when they service the car (two different dealers, I stopped using dealers a while ago, but still ;))

I wonder what the warranty situation is when the dealer puts the stuff in..
