I just bought myself a 8800GTX, It boots and plays most games, but I know I need a new PSU.

Nvidia states "The Geforce 8800GTX requires a minimum 450W or greater system power supply with a 12v current rating of 30A."

I have been looking at this PSU.

FSP >> PC Power Supply >> Retail Package - Epsilon >> FX700-GLN

I see that in the table, it says +12v1 max load 18A.

Does that mean since the 8800GTX has 2 6 pin power connecters that two will add up to 36A and therefore be good enough for my card?

That PSU willbe fine just make sure you connect both 6 pin power connecters to the card or you will experience probs during heavy loading of the GPU

Thats ok for some setups. However a 8800GTX needs a lot more power (450w min IIRC).

Unless you get 2 x 8800GTX in SLI then there will be no need for a seperate power supply. A700w PSU will be more than capable of running the system and have a couple of hundred watt to spare even under load. Unless it contains a Quadcore processor, 64bit Operating System, and over 6GB of ram

Erm think the 450w min is for the main PSU, thus giving you more overhead after the mainboard, HDD's etc have taken their hit. I'd be very worried if the card was pulling 450w as nothing else in the box would come on.

sorry didnt make that clear. I was talking in terms of the Min powered PSU you can put in the system

BF2142 is ****e.... lol buggy as hell.. im sure your not the only one with problems
