Calling all vRS owners north of the border

Calling all fellow Scottish vRS owners.....

I am desperate to get my Mk1 Octy vRS remapped in the near future. I had planned on getting a Stage 2 Jabba remap however I doubt I'll have the time to drive the 6 hrs or so down south for it to get done.

Any ideas on where the best place is to get a remap in the Glasgow area?? I'd be looking for a power increase similar to a Stage 2 Jabba jobbie.....

Some advice would be appreciated!

My recommendation is to contact Jim Curley at Star Performance in Fife. I'm not the only one who will recommend him!:thumbup:

STAR PERFORMANCE

I'd say either Star, or Agra Engineering in Dundee if they do remaps.

Is there any point in getting a Stage 2 remap if the car is standard or am I best just to go for a generic one??

Would i get more power increase from a stage 2?

Bedrock in Wishaw do Jabba maps, this could be handy for you judging by your location.

hi mate no point in getting a stage 2 remap if ur car is standard, the point of a stage 2 is to take advantage of a aports cat, exhaust sysyem, uprated air filter etc.whichever company u choose whether it be star performance, bedrock vw,chipped uk u wont be dissapointed with the results,my leon cupra was remapped by star performance last year, couldnt fault it,i got it done in last years march special, would get my octy vrs done there if he done another special as it was only

No remap alone is going to give much more than 215-220 bhp. To get more you'll need sports cat, exhaust and maybe a CAI. Max on the standard turbo is 235 - 240 bhp. Plenty of info in this forum :D:D

For what it's worth, I'm VERY happy with mine :thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for the info guys.

I think I'll give Bedrock a phone - they seem to be well thought of on other VAG forums, are a jabba agent and are only 10mins drive from my home in East Kilbride.

Perhaps the Stage 1 is the best idea as I don't have a huge amount of cash to throw at the Octy on the other mods I have in mind.

Cheers

Mine is standard as well apart from green cotton panel filter and forge 007 dump v/v. I have just had a forge/ipro remap done 205hp 300nm torque and am very impressed .

I take it you notice a big difference when it's remapped?? Don't want to be disappointed....!

You notice a big difference.......................I thought mine was fast as standard, then after the first remap :eek:

Then after the other work and a tweak to the map :D:D:D:D

I think it's the torque that makes the difference - it comes in when the boost comes in (1850 rpm) and just keeps pushing. If I floor the car in 3rd at 30mph it just takes off and it will go up to over 100mph in that gear :thumbup:

Tested at Knockhill of course ;)

Another vote for Jim @ Star Performance, and dont forget you get a forum sponsor discount IIRC.

I now need new rear discs - I've worn then out :eek:
